Double block and bleed (DBB)
A trunnion ball valve with double block and bleed (DBB) uses a fixed ball and two separate spring-loaded seats. When closed, it seals against pressure from both the upstream and downstream ends. A built-in vent or bleed valve drains fluid or depressurizes the trapped pressure from the cavity between these seating surfaces.
The double block and bleed function allows you to flush the valve through the drain or vent valve under pressure.
